Weighing in at 223lbs 10 months ago, I decided to do something about it. I wasn’t sure what to do but I knew I had to do something. I am a father of 6 awesome children and a husband to a wife that is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. My career demands days that begin early(7-8am) and end late (7-8pm, sometimes 9pm.) I also teach Sunday School which demands study, planning, and preparation. Add to that the demands of the family such as ball practice, dinners, and just having enough energy to spend time with them. My job requires lots of travel, gas station catered lunches, and an overall diet centered around “quick and easy”, only made it that much harder. I started with my eating habits and over the next 5 months lost about 25 pounds. It was a great accomplishment but I was still unhealthy and continued to struggle with keeping up with the demands of family, work, church, and well life overall. Over the next 4 months, my weight refused to budge beyond an additional 5 pounds despite my eating habits. 4 weeks ago I started activating my body. 3 weeks ago I joined Planet Fitness and began a 6 day workout regiment. In the beginning, I thought, “There’s no way I can get up at 4:45am, lift weights for 45 minutes, do cardio for 20 minutes, get dressed, go to work for 10 to 12 hours, spend time with family and back in bed by 10pm. Who has that kind of energy??? I will tell you that thanks to activation, the answer to that question is “This guy”.A special “Thank You!” to my wife Angela for being more stubborn than I and making me give all this a try. - Ron W.
